Las Vegas Convention Venues 2026

Know before you ship. Each venue has different union rules, drayage rates, and general contractors.

Nevada is a right-to-work state. This gives exhibitors significantly more flexibility than Chicago or New York — but individual venues still have their own labor agreements. Always check your specific show's Exhibitor Services Manual.

Las Vegas Drayage Calculator 2026

Estimate Freeman, GES, or Venetian material handling costs before you ship. Las Vegas drayage is among the lowest in the country — but it still adds up.

Rates current as of March 2026. Las Vegas rates are generally 15–25% lower than Chicago or NYC.
Estimated Las Vegas Drayage Cost

Compared to other cities:
The same shipment at McCormick Place (Chicago) would cost approximately 30–35% more.
Las Vegas rates vary by show. Some events use show-exclusive contractors. Always verify costs in your Exhibitor Services Manual. Check union rules below →

Las Vegas Union Labor Rules 2026

Nevada's right-to-work status makes Las Vegas more flexible than most major show cities. Here's what you can and cannot do yourself at each venue.

Good news: Las Vegas is one of the most exhibitor-friendly markets in the US. At LVCC, you can typically plug in your own power strip (under 500W), assemble your own furniture, and hand-carry items in without hiring labor — unlike Chicago's McCormick Place where almost nothing is self-performed.
VenuePlug in Power StripHang BannerAssemble FurnitureHand Carry ItemsNotes
LVCC (Las Vegas Convention Center) Yes (under 500W) No (IATSE) Yes (under 30 min) Yes (one trip, carry-on size) Electricians required for hardwired power. Carpenters for anything requiring tools over 30 min.
Venetian Expo Yes No (IATSE) Yes Yes Generally flexible. Check your show's specific exhibitor manual — GES rules may add restrictions.
Mandalay Bay Convention Center Yes No (IATSE) Yes Yes Right-to-work generally applies. Verify with Freeman for your specific show.
Caesars Forum Yes (under 500W) No Yes Yes Flexible for standard booths. Custom installations need Freeman labor.

Rules vary by show and exhibitor services manual. Always verify before you arrive.

10 Things Every LV Trade Show Exhibitor Should Know

From someone who has watched exhibitors make the same expensive mistakes at LVCC year after year.

Tip 01
Book your hotel during booth selection
Hotel rates near LVCC triple during CES, NAB, and SEMA. The moment your booth is confirmed, open a hotel tab. Staying at the show's host hotel saves 45 minutes a day in transit — worth the rate premium.
Tip 02
LVCC drayage is cheaper than most cities
At ~$85/CWT, Las Vegas Convention Center drayage is 20–30% cheaper than McCormick Place. Still budget 15–25% of your booth cost for material handling, fuel surcharges, and skid fees.
Tip 03
Nevada right-to-work = real flexibility
You can plug in a power strip, assemble your own furniture, and hand-carry items in single trips at most LV venues. In Chicago or New York these would require union labor. Don't pay for it if you don't have to.
Tip 04
Ship to the advance warehouse, not the show site
Shipping to the advance warehouse is typically 10–15% cheaper than show-site delivery and avoids the chaos of move-in day traffic. Confirm the warehouse address in your Exhibitor Services Manual.
Tip 05
Internet is a separate (expensive) line item
Show-provided internet at LVCC costs $600–$2,500 per booth depending on bandwidth. If you're running demos, budget for it early. Hotspots from the major carriers work in most halls but are unreliable during peak hours.
Tip 06
Lead retrieval rental vs. your own app
Show-provided lead scanners cost $400–$700 per show. Third-party apps like iLeads or Exhibitcore cost $99–$299 and give you the data immediately instead of 30 days after the show. Own your leads.
Tip 07
The SEMA/AAPEX week is unlike any other
Early November in Las Vegas means 220,000+ automotive industry people flooding the Strip simultaneously. Both LVCC and Venetian are packed. Book taxis/rideshares in advance. Budget double the normal transportation time.
Tip 08
COI requirements are strict — get them right
Every show requires a Certificate of Insurance naming the event organizer, venue, and GC as additional insureds. Get this to your broker 3 weeks before the show, not 3 days. Wrong endorsements = denied booth access.
Tip 09
The Monorail actually matters for LVCC
Las Vegas Monorail stops at LVCC, Sahara, Bally's, Paris, and MGM Grand. During NAB and HIMSS it's packed. The West Hall expansion is accessible from the Convention Center station. Rideshare surge pricing peaks 8–9am and 5–6pm.
Tip 10
Empty crate storage takes longer than you think
When move-in begins, your crates get removed and stored — and returned during move-out in a specific order. Large shows can have 4–8 hour waits for empties to return. Build that buffer into your move-out timeline or miss your flight.

Where to Stay for Las Vegas Trade Shows

The right hotel saves you 45 minutes per day in transit — and in a 3-day show, that's 2 hours back in your pocket.
